Serve Tuscaloosa 2011

It finally came, that phone call shattering the late night silence. His voice is there, and strong, but too far away for this momma. I bend to the required release of a mother to her almost-adult-son, but I'm going on record to say... I just don't like this.  It's only a week in Alabama to serve those suffering from the tornado, but it's a week of preparation for me of what lies ahead. Going to serve is good, and we are all thankful for the opportunity, (isn't this what we pray for??) but I'm wracking my tired brain to figure out some way to turn back the clock...

I come to your blog because I love the glimpses of farm life..the glimpses of another homeschooling family...the humor & of course the beautiful kiddos!
I come away every time inspired by your heart! I am so thankful for your honesty, your sharing truthfully where you are.
I think all mothers can share in your loving to see service growing in the heart of our young people...that IS what we are training & praying for! But, oh the letting go as well. It is a lesson for us as well.
Thank you for sharing this and many other stories "from your heart"!

If you figure it out, will you let me in on it? I'm feeling all those same things. Painful, hopeful, exciting, dreadful feelings of WHY IS LIFE GOING SO FAST!!?? ha! AND Ugh! :'(
Love you friend.

Before I got your comment, I had already been praying, and have certainly continued to! Thank you for the confidence you are able to feel towards me - that comment was such a blessing! Being able to lead someone to Christ is the best blessing for a Christian - the /next/ best is to have been a blessing to another believer!

SOLI DEO GLORIA!

Oh dear Momma! I feel your aches. Yes it is what we pray for. Praise the Lord for a son who is strong enough to follow the Lord's calling. To go. To serve. To be brave for others. To reach out his hand to the hurt and suffering.

He'll be back Momma with lots of wonderful stories of how God worked and guess what.....he'll be coming back to you :-)

hugs sweet friend ~Cinnamon

So many times I've longed to turn back the clock, to slow it down, or to start completely over and do it all again.
