I've had a few requests for the pattern number to our favorite farmhouse skirt. It's Simplicity 2609 and if you watch your JoAnn Fabric sale paper, you can find it on sale periodically for $.99. What a deal! At that price and for the number of times we've used the pattern, I've picked up a couple. This is a pattern we don't want to live without!
Here are a few of the skirts we've made, not all mind you, and not including the fabric waiting to be made into yet another beautiful skirt! Grace's red skirt is an experiment using fabric originally destined for a jumper, but converted into the non-tiered skirt on the same pattern. The yoke is the same, but much less cutting, gathering, etc. While it's not our favorite, it is a great pattern to learn on and have instant success.
Don't forget: when extended family is asking about gift ideas for birthdays and Christmas, a fabric store gift card is always a good idea!

That is my new "Most Favorite" skirt pattern! It is sooooo easy!!! And doesn't really take that much fabric either!!! I love knowing that someone waaayyyyy up "yonder" is enjoying that pattern as much as we are!
I'll have to try that pattern!! It looks like a good one!
Sigh... so pretty!! =)
So cute... :) :) I used to make clothes as a teenager and then just stopped for whatever reason.. I bought a sewing machine brand new on sale at Target over four years ago and never used it. It's high time to put that sewing machine to use. I'm just now starting to get back into sewing...and I'm working on making everything at home as much as I can. I would wear a skirt like this. It looks so comfortable too. now I have no excuse :) :) I'm glad to see long skirts are still being worn :) :) greetings from Oregon, Heather :)
This pattern is easy and it looks good on eveyr body shape :D
Thank you for sharing...my favoriate picture is the green skirt - the fabric looks like suede.

Dear Mrs Regan,
I was wondering how your fonts on your whole blog to be more decretive (by the way, the one you have is one of my favorite fonts! :)
I can't find anything about how to do it- can you help me?
Thanks :)

Hannah,
At the end of my sidebar, there is a link to changing your fonts. I am so technically challenged, so if I can do it, you can too!
@Regan Family Farm,
Thanks for the info on the font. I love the font you use...and I was thinking about switching mine. I just use the basic one that Blogger provides. I really enjoy your blog..:) :) :) Have a great rest of the week. Greetings from Oregon, Heather :)
Hi Kathy, You must email me please. I tried to email you at your email address (I found along the side bar). I have not heard from you yet! Anyway you won a gift on my blog. It was an e-pattern, but for a little girl. I am in the middle of making the same type of pattern, but for a boy. Thought it would work out for your sister's baby better. Please email me at prairieflowerfarm@gmail.com
So glad you came by and were encouraged last night! Wish we could sit and have lemonade together! Blessings sweet friend, Linda
Those are definitely cute farm girl skirts and look just adorable on your girlies. I don't sew. Never had a huge desire - any really. ha! Now, if I had to sew to be clothed, I'd do it, but since I can go to thrift stores and garage sales... well you know... :)
You do a great job Kathy.
Love ya.

I got the skirt pattern when Simplicity had a 99 cent sale. I LOVE it. It is really easy to understand and the waist band is SO easy, unlike some skirts I have sewn! Thanks so much for posting this...

PS I will probably be posting pictures of my new skirt in the next few days, if you want to check it out.... www.jcangus.blogspot.com
I love that pattern! I'm actually going to go buy it at the fabric store today because it's on sale. I love pattern sales! Thanks for sharing pictures of your beautiful skirts! =)
