On The Farm...

I love the idea of Saturdays. I can fill up my day with more projects than I ever have time for, but that isn't so important. What matters is the list...the hope of accomplishing more than I did yesterday.
In a race against time, I tackled the ever-present paper pile and actually filed some, and threw some away. I found a spot for some books to rest, and selected some to donate. Progress was made on my next skirt, Abigail cut out her next skirt, and Grace ironed her fabric for her next skirt. Laundry was in progress, clutter organized and put away, lunch was made, eaten and cleaned up.
A couple of weeks ago I was blessed with an exact pair of Carharts that I hoped to purchase someday, from a friend who preferred to get the "zip-up" version. And, they were chocolate brown...just the color I wanted. Silly, but a blessing still! So today I put them on and headed to the barn to enjoy the sunshine and check on the cow (due very soon) and the goats (progressing nicely in their pregnancy).

Hot chicken soup for dinner and a giant pan of apple dumplings took priority, then haircuts, baths, and more talk time. Tonight's focus: contentment, choosing our attitude, growing in Christ, salvation, relationships...could anything else be squeezed in?
Overall, a good day, with much prayer for continued progress. And breakfast tomorrow? Leftover apple dumplings!

A peaceful night to all my friends~
Kathy

What blessings it is to get much done. Just feels good doesn't it?

Those apple dumplings look delicious! Is there a recipe to go with it? Now you've gone and made me hungry and here I am being so good eating raw almonds :-)

About John training little Granton. The turn around was quick. But I have found that when my husband trains/works with our children the results are quick. When I do it they take longer. That's why I'm so glad he's doing it :-) and I get to enjoy the benefits.

So glad you're feeling a bit better~ Cinnamon

p.s. I saw that you don't have a contact email. I do on my blog, on my sidebar. If you'd ever like to, feel free to email me. I have a feeling we'd have an endless supply of things to talk about :-)

Blessings~ Cinnamon

I agree with Cinnamon, it is a blessing to get so much done. Isn't it wonderful how the Lord cares about the little things. He didn't just provide, he also considered the color you would like best. He is very good!

Saturdays have been very busy for quite sometime - but now not so much. I realized that I needed the Saturday to just enjoy my whole family together.

My husband is home all day, and the children are just enjoying him completely.

I tend to focus on one or two projects at a time now.

It keeps things simple and I have been able to stay calm through it all ;-)

Thank you dear friend for stopping by the cottage ~ I just love your visits!

Blessings,

maria

Sounds like a perfect day! I also tackled my paperwork pile last Saturday. It was over a foot high and I couldn't take it anymore. Although, I didn't finish it until Sunday night truth be told.
