"For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite (brokenhearted) and humble (meek, submissive) spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones."
The answer to the cry of my heart
Mothering the way I ought to mother
Walking along side my children with patient love
Teaching tenderly
Guiding faithfully
Laughing joyfully
Dancing with them
Singing together (everyone get your curling iron!)
And then when I blow it, when I mess it all up, there is the need to be contrite and humble in spirit, being broken before them, crying out to God, seeking forgiveness. I really believe that is when my children see the redemptive hand of God at work in a tangible way. They witness the beauty of repentance, forgiveness, restoration, and the very God of the universe "reviv(ing) the heart of the contrite ones."
More than anything, I long for my children to know God, to really know that He is their all in all, that this life isn't just a tradition.

And you are doing just that! What an example you are to all of us mothers that stop by your beautiful and blessed farm.
I know that the way I act, the way I speak, the way I handle my everyday occurrences, I am living a lasting impression on my two boys that are with me constantly.
It is so important as mothers to remember this on a moment by moment basis. And when we do mess up, we take care of the matter right away. To show that we do make mistakes but we humble ourselves before The Lord and ask forgiveness!
Thank you dear Kathy, for this wonderful post!
