"Courtesy is plain old-fashioned thoughtfulness. Do for him or her what you would want done for you." Elisabeth Elliot
Recently I posted about courtesy , and find daily examples of the importance in training our children on this necessary character quality. There can be no excuse to overlook the teaching and reminding of treating others with respect, deference, just "plain old-fashioned thoughtfulness" ! Today I received the strangest phone call with demands of personal information. Basic phone manners were non-existent~a good reminder to teach my children well. Today Joshua and Jenna visited multiple local businesses for their 4-H project and stood bravely in the face of rude confrontation and disrespect~a good reminder to teach my children well. I just refuse to let this character quality die.

Great post!
It's amazing how far society has strayed from basic, courteous manners...I much prefer the 'old fashioned' way of doing things!

It is so sad the parents do not take the time to teach manners anymore. I smile each time our 12 yr. old son holds the door for his sisters and I or for a stranger.
So many things are lost in a society running too fast, seeking after things that will burn up.
